About Our School

Swami Vivekananda School & Skill Development Centre three storied building was completed in record time of 6 months by Rotary Club of Calcutta Metro South under the supervision and leadership of the charter member Rtn Santosh Rungta.

The total funding of this state-of-the-art school building is over Rs. 4 crs and major portion of the fund came from Taiwan Dist 3490 and RC Metro South with handholding from RC Singapore Dist 3310 who contributed substantial running expenses funding.

The school building was inaugurated on the 19th December 2019 in the presence of a big 100 members delegation from Taiwan Dist 3490 and Singapore Dist 3310 and Dist 3291, Kolkata as organised by RC Metro South. After suffering the impact of 2 yrs pandemic period of Covid-19 , the school was fully revived with Global Grants of RC Metro South and Taiwan Dist 3490 as international partner. RC Metro South signed MOU with NGO Mukti after assessing their strong organisation base in the Sundarban area, South 24-Parganas and substantial management contribution came from Mukti in the revival process of the school.

For long term scaling and sustainability at the initiative and recommendation of RC Singapore, a tripartite MOU was signed between RC Metro South and RC Mahanagar with RC Singapore as the confirming international third party.

PRIP Shekhar Mehta has taken the prime leadership role for joint running of the project for making the whole project a centre of excellence for school education of the children of the local community and wholesome development of the area through skill development training, adult literacy and other innovative socio-economic projects of Rotary. PRIP Shekhar Mehta is also providing hand-holding support from RILM for the school project.
